For South African certificates, the Apostille must be issued by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1d5c2mk\" data-start=\"862\" data-end=\"1056\">If the certificate was not issued by the South African Department of Home Affairs, an Italian translation of the birth certificate is required \u2014 the Apostille does not need to be translated.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"2eb9fn\" data-start=\"1057\" data-end=\"1188\"><strong>Civil status records:<\/strong> marriage, any divorce decree or death certificate of the spouse, and any subsequent marriage certificate.\n<ul data-start=\"14\" data-end=\"1505\">\n<li data-section-id=\"k0dmqz\" data-start=\"1189\" data-end=\"1323\">Italian certificates must be requested from the competent Municipality (<em data-start=\"1263\" data-end=\"1271\">Comune<\/em>), recently issued, and provided in original form.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"19vhxln\" data-start=\"1324\" data-end=\"1505\">South African certificates must be requested from the Department of Home Affairs in original form, duly legalized with an Apostille issued by DIRCO, and translated into Italian.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"xposmt\" data-start=\"1507\" data-end=\"1550\">ASCENDANTS (GRANDPARENTS and\/or PARENTS)<\/h2>\n<ul data-start=\"1552\" data-end=\"2583\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">\n<li data-section-id=\"118j998\" data-start=\"1552\" data-end=\"1738\">Civil status records: full birth certificate, marriage certificate, any divorce decree or death certificate of the spouse, any subsequent marriage certificate, and death certificate.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"ufwqew\" data-start=\"1739\" data-end=\"2051\">Italian certificates must be requested from the competent Municipality (<em data-start=\"1813\" data-end=\"1821\">Comune<\/em>), recently issued, and provided in original form.
