The Consulate General has launched the Call for Ideas “RE-DESIGN ITALY IN JOBURG” for the submission of creative proposals aimed at the architectural and functional redevelopment of the Consulate’s rear garden area (approximately 380 sqm).
Participants are invited to submit a realistically feasible conceptual proposal, without the need to specify technical, economic, or dimensional details, as this call does not constitute a design competition.
Proposals should aim to:

enhance Italian architectural identity;

create an exhibition space to eventually promote Italian companies;

encourage social interaction and cultural activities, strengthening the role of the Consulate within the South African context;

promote social and environmental well-being, inspired by the principles of the circular economy.
