Day of Remembrance – A starry sky above the Roman ghetto

On the occasion of the Day of Remembrance, on February 1, 2022 at 18:00 the Italian Cultural Institute, the Embassy of Italy in Pretoria and the Johannesburg Holocaust and Genocide Centre invite you to the screening of the film A starry sky over the ghetto of Rome, by director Giulio Base, with an opening address by H.E. Ambassador Paolo Cuculi.

At the end of the screening, refreshments will be served. Reservations are required at the e-mail address in the poster. All Covid-19 protocols apply.

A starry sky above the Roman ghetto directed by Giulio Base, tells the story of the Shoah, one of the irremediable scars of history of humanity, but it does so through the adventure and the search for truth by of a group of young boys.

The film is the story of Sofia and of a group of Christian and Jewish boys, where the past is interwoven with the present. The discovery of a letter and a mysterious photo of a little girl will bring Sofia and her young friends in search of the truth.
