The Italian citizen, registered in AIRE and residing in the consular district of the Consulate General of Italy in Johannesburg, can request the Aire registration municipality at this consular office, by sending an email to consolare.johannesburg@esteri.it, the certificate of Italian citizenship and the certificate of existence in life.
The certificates relating to residence and family status, on the other hand, are the exclusive competence of the Registry Officer of the Municipality of Aire registration. Regarding residence, the Consulate can only issue a Certificate of Registration in the Consular Registry.
The certificates issued are valid for six months from the date of issue, with the exception of certificates and self-declarations attesting to personal facts that cannot be modified, such as birth, death, etc. It is possible to extend the validity of the certificates if the interested party signs the declaration that no changes have occurred in the meantime.
